Another one of my musings from Lotus Effect:
Each moment gives us an opportunity to experience all of our thoughts, vibrations, and traumas in the physical. How we respond to this hologram says a lot about the balance of our emotional body. Emotions themselves are indicators of our vibrational state and powerful tools to facilitate change and healing in our lives. In fact, one of the most beneficial ways for us to take care of the energy in our body is to recognize and learn from our emotional triggers.
Triggers are not only something survivors of war suffer from. A trigger can be activated any time the emotional body experiences a disharmonic resonance that correlates with a past negative experience. Moments we are caught off guard, irritated, or unexpectedly emotional about a person or situation we’ve encountered are triggers on the surface of a much deeper negative core belief or experience. Most people brush their triggers off as “overreacting” and dismiss how they feel, while others attach a story to their triggers and project those beliefs onto themselves and the people around them.
Here are 4 ways to deal with emotional triggers that help bring balance/alignment to the body:
*Recognize and accept your trigger: Notice the trigger and accept it without attaching any story to it. Accept how you feel, even if Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view. it seems like the emotion is out of context. You don’t have to let the feelings control you, but you can recognize they are there to teach you. Don’t minimize how you feel. Learn from it.
*Put the Pieces of the Puzzle together: While you don’t want to approach your emotions like problems to be fix, it is important to ask them what they represent. Once you’ve identified how you feel, it’s important to ask yourself “When was the first time I ever felt this emotion?” Tracing the emotion to its origins allows us to see the soft spots in our emotional body – our trigger points. Any emotion the brain associates with past trauma (or negative events) will activate the same pathway of the original trauma. When we understand the connection, we can see that how we emotionally handle our current experiences, are reflections of our past emotional experiences.
*Accept and Validate: Once you identify your emotions and trace them back to their origins, allow yourself to accept and validate the original feelings. Tell your emotional body you will no longer discount or abandon yourself in how you feel. Give yourself permission to grieve over the original event or trauma and let yourself know that it matters – you matter. Get angry if you need to. Feel whatever you feel without judgment or action – simply let the energy of each emotion take its course. Send love to all timelines and fractures of the original trauma. Choose to embrace the moment as the new start it is.
*Laugh: We don’t have to always take ourselves so seriously. Laughter is the vibration of JOY – one of the highest vibrations we can hold. Allow yourself to have fun with this hologram and enjoy the experience with a sense of wonder and joy – even the hard stuff. This is not a laughter of invalidation or suppression — it’s simply a nod to the hilarity of this hologram we are co-creating together. When we’re stuck in the eddies of our egos, laughter is an instant cure.
